Tips for Taking Great Family Vacation Photos

Kissimmee Florida resorts
It seems like everyone has a camera now, ranging from professional DSLR to your basic camera phone. That means that everyone can take plenty of pictures on the family vacation. However, it doesn’t mean that you’re always going to get great photos that look good and bring back fond memories. If you’re planning a trip to the Kissimmee Florida resorts or any other vacation destination, here are a few tips to make sure your family vacation photos look their best.

It’s always nice to have some good family group shots, but just wrangling the whole family can sometimes be a challenge. One handy way to stop members from straying too far from the perfect shot is to choose a window or doorway as a framework for your photo. Find one with some decorative features, be they elegant columns or artistic wrought-iron work and you’ll have an attractively framed picture of your whole family.

Whether you’re standing in front of the ocean or in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World, try taking a photo of your family looking at the scenery, facing away from the camera. Not only do you get the great scenery, you can create a surprisingly emotional moment. When you have your backs to the camera, the key is to have a couple of people turn their heads slightly toward each other. It creates a strong, intimate family portrait.

On the other hand, even if you are all facing forward, a more personal photo comes from having family members looking at and interacting with each other. You’re more likely to get real moments instead of forced, fixed smiles.

If you’re staying at one of the Kissimmee Florida resorts, such as Fantasy World, don’t forget to get some family photos of everyone enjoying the pools, slides and other entertainment options. Any motion you can capture creates a more vibrant and interesting shot. Just make sure your camera can work with a fast shutter to avoid blurs and streaks.

Finally, don’t forget to take some fun shots of your surroundings, especially in the theme parks. Try to crop out any of the signs, fences, tour guides and other anachronisms and focus on the main subject, whether it’s a roaring dinosaur head at the Jurassic Park theme park or the lions and tigers at the animal park. Capture the illusion for some real stand-out photos, and use those illusions with some silliness from your own family members to create even more entertaining shots.
