Dog Friendly Activities in Kissimmee FL

FantasyWorld prides itself on its vacation villas that let you enjoy the comforts of home with the perks of staying in one of the top Kissimmee FL resorts. The latest way we help you feel more at home is by inviting your canine family members to join you. After all, dogs are a big part of the family and most people would prefer to have them along on vacation, for the fun and for the peace of mind. Best of all, your pet isn’t going to be limited to staying at the resort, because Kissimmee is home to a number of places that are dog-friendly.

A trip to Florida should always include some fun water activities and Kissimmee is home to The Paddling Center at Shingle Park, where dogs can get in on the fun. This is a great place to rent single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. Medium-sized leashed dogs can ride along for no extra charge in a tandem kayak or canoe, and leashed puppies can come along in a one-person kayak or canoe. You can explore on your own or let the trained staff take you and your dog on a guided tour, such as the Two Hour Cypress Forest Guided Eco-Tour.

There are lots of dog-friendly parks with various amenities, ranging from dog runs to boat ramps. One of the most popular is Partin Triangle Park, where leashed dogs are welcome. This five-acre park is located on Lake Tohopekaliga and features tennis/racquetball courts, as well as four boat ramps. Your dog doesn’t have to just sit back and watch, though. There’s also the KUA Cumbie Canine Court on an island inside of Kissimmee’s Mill Slough Park. As well as having separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, this park also provides an agility course for your dog, including an adjustable jump bar challenge, elevated dog walk, hoop jump, King of the Hill A-frame, weave posts, and a crawl tunnel. There are also picnic tables and water fountains set up for people and for dogs, so it’s easy to make a day of it.

For some shopping — or at least window shopping — there are some fun options available. Old Town Kissimmee is a charming area to walk around and window shop with your leashed dog, though shops won’t necessarily allow your dog inside. Family members can take turns if they see a shop they’re really interested in, though. And you never know, some shops may be welcoming to your dog. Another option is the Main Gate Flea Market or the 192 Flea Market. Both of these air-conditioned markets allow well-behaved dogs on a leash.

Finally, what’s a vacation without some great meals and drinks! Best of all, your pets can join you, at least at the outdoor seating, in close to 50 restaurants and bars in the area. Broadway Pizza Bar is a big favorite with their brick oven pizza, extensive wine list, friendly staff, and the fact that leashed dogs are allowed at tables on the covered porch, making it ideal, no matter the weather. Tabbouleh serves up authentic Mediterranean cuisine that is delicious and affordable. Whether you choose your own plate or go with a family meal platter, you’ll be well fed with items like kebabs, shawarma, lamb shank, and more. Pups are allowed at the outdoor covered seating area, which is spacious and kept clean. Abuelo’s offers tastes of coastal and interior Mexican cuisine sure to satisfy you, plus, they have 15 outdoor tables so you and your dogs can enjoy a fine meal.

There’s no shortage of parks, activities and restaurants right in Kissimmee for you to enjoy with your dog when you stay at FantasyWorld, one of the leading Kissimmee FL resorts. Plus, you’ll find more parks and activities in the surrounding area, ensuring you and your best canine buddies can enjoy the vacation together. And for peace of mind, there are places nearby ranging from selling pet supplies to looking after your pup for the day to emergency care, just in case. So make sure you make a reservation for your dog while you make your own reservation at FantasyWorld.
