Disney Dining Delights and Must-Eats

While various Disney parks play host to a variety of food festivals, you’ll find plenty of must-eat food every day at Disney World. The Dole Whip is a staple for a reason, but there are amazing foods, both savory and sweet, to be had throughout the park. Plus, with all of that walking, you don’t have to feel guilty about indulging. Although if you do want to burn a few extra calories for a clearer conscious, the Fantasy World Kissimmee resort features a fitness center and plenty of fun ways to stay active, all within easy access of Disney World.

You could start your day at the Magic Kingdom with breakfast at the Be Our Guest Restaurant in Fantasyland. This restaurant is a great choice for breakfast, in part because of the outstanding Croque Madame, an open-faced sandwich on sourdough bread topped with ham, a fried egg, gruyere cheese, and bechamel sauce. Plus, there’s fruit on the side!

Alternatively, if you’re starting your day at Animal Kingdom, don’t miss the Tusker House Buffet Breakfast with a variety of sweet and savory options, including sweet plantains and a Cape Malay curry chicken that is a surprisingly good way to start the day. Plus, you always have fluffy, vanilla Mickey waffles available.

Casey’s Corner on Main Street is comfort junk-food heaven. You can’t go wrong with their mouth-watering Corn Dog Nuggets dipped in the classic tart yellow mustard. If you like your dogs on a bun and really want to try something decadent, get the Bacon Macaroni Hot Dog. This rich indulgence could probably feed two people just ordering the normal size and not the foot long, but it tastes amazing. Consider ordering a side of sauerkraut to cut through some of the richness. And hey! Sauerkraut’s a vegetable, so you can feel better about it.

Animal Kingdom is a great place to try some different flavors, as seen in their Tusker House breakfast options. While you’re in the Animal Kingdom, don’t miss out on the Pork ‘n’ Fries at Flame Tree Barbecue. This poutine-like dish is fries smothered in shredded pork, sweet barbecue sauce, and gooey nacho cheese. A filling, but oh-so-delicious snack you won’t regret. But maybe save it for after some of the wilder rides. A slightly healthier option is the Beef and Lamb Gyro Flatbread at Harambe Market in Africa, with tender strips of meat dressed with lettuce, cucumber, and a creamy white sauce such as a garlic sauce. It also comes with a green papaya slaw and a black eye pea salad for a truly memorable dish.

Of course, when it comes to Epcot and their pavilions from around the world, you’ll always find delicious food. Authentic Fish and Chips in the United Kingdom, Pizza Margherita and wine cocktails at Via Napoli in Italy, and some spectacular French dishes to die for at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the French pavilion, particularly the cheese dishes, such as the tartine and the assiette fromage.

Finally, for those with a sweet tooth, there’s the classic Dole Whip in various forms, Sticky Toffee Pudding at Rose & Crown at the UK pavilion in Epcot, amazing warm cinnamon buns at Kusafiri Coffee Shop in Animal Kingdom, and the must-eat Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with Nutella at Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom.

These are just some of the tantalizing dishes to be enjoyed alone or split among family and friends at the various Disney World parks. As you plan your rides, don’t forget to plan your meals and snacks. They’re just as memorable and you’ll be raving about them as you return home each evening to your beautiful Fantasy World Kissimmee resort, where you’re sure to have sweet, delicious dreams.
