Vacation Travel Option: Orlando Sanford International Airport
If you’re planning to fly into Central Florida for your vacation, you may want to consider using the small but growing Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). Located on approximately 2,000 acres slightly northeast of Orlando, this full-service, state-of-the-art facility offers easy access to ground transportation and all of the area’s attractions without the congestion of the larger Orlando International Airport.
The best-known carrier serving the Orlando Sanford International Airport is Allegiant, an airline with a mission of making leisure travel affordable and convenient by connecting small cities to world-class destinations. Allegiant offers nonstop all-jet passenger service to 54 destinations from Orlando Sanford with low one-way and round-trip fares (you may choose to pay for additional services, such as checked luggage, based on your individual needs). Be aware, however, that not all flights operate daily, so be sure the airline can meet your arrival and departure schedule before you book your flights.
Other carriers include Icelandair, SST Air, Monarch, and Thomson Airways, which offer scheduled and charter international service.
Nine major rental car companies are located on the airport property, making it convenient and easy for you to pick up and return a car. Taxi, limo and shuttle services are also available.
While this airport does not have the abundance of shopping, restaurant and other entertainment opportunities found at major facilities, it is clean, modern and easy to navigate. You’ll find adequate food service, retail and duty free shopping (in the international terminal). It also features the Royal Palm Lounge, which offers soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, comfortable seating, internet, television, youth entertainment center, children’s playroom, baggage storage area and smoking room.Tags: condo rentals, Kissimmee vacation, Orlando Vacation Packages, resort Orlando vacation, Vacation Packages
