Now is as good a time as any to start planning for your next trip to Central Florida to visit the world-renowned theme parks. As an added bonus, many of the parks, such as Epcot, are making plans and building new attractions. A great place to make your base for visiting all of the parks, plus the beaches and other attractions, is the Fantasy World Kissimmee Florida resort. Ideally located to enjoy the parks and so much more, it’s also an attraction in its own right with water park rides, games galore, and so much more, not to mention the spacious villas that are like a home away from home.

Make Fantasy World your home base and then go exploring around the world and maybe even outside the world at some of the new attractions coming to Epcot in the coming year. At the recent announcement about various upcoming Disney changes are a variety of additions and enhancements to the Epcot theme park, most notably a refurbishment of the iconic Spaceship Earth and a new Mary Poppins attraction in the UK pavilion.

The goal is to make Epcot “more Disney, more family-friendly”, resulting in one of the largest transformations they’ve ever done for any park. Visitors who have been to Epcot before will surely want to return again and again to see all of the changes in the coming years. For example, there will be a reorganization of the various worlds at Epcot. World Showcase will remain, however, Future World will be divided into World Nature, World Discovery and World Celebration.

A new roller coaster is already being built in what will be World Discovery. The roller coaster will be called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. In addition, a new restaurant is being planned, continuing the space theme. The name of the restaurant, Space 220, reflects the view of the Earth from 220 miles out in space.

The space between Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase Lagoon will become World Celebration. There will be new fountains, landscaping, and a three-level structure that will become the new home for Epcot festivals. To cap it off, a new statue of Walt Disney will be erected in Dreamers Point.

Other changes include a transformation of the park’s entrance. There will be a new fountain, a variety of pathways, and large green spaces to add to the beauty and awe that has always been at the heart of the park. The various country pavilions will also see some new additions. Although no major details or timeline have been given, a Mary Poppins attraction will be added to the United Kingdom pavilion in a new Cherry Tree Lane area. By summer 2020, France’s pavilion will have the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride. The China Pavilion will also be getting a new film, titled Wonderous China.

In addition, Awesome Planet is a new film that will start being shown in the Land area in January 2020. There will also be the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along and Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360. Plus, there will be a new Moana-themed exploration trail, called Journey of Water. Finally, Epcot’s new end-of-night fireworks display featuring the music of Disney will be called HarmonioUS.

These are some of the big changes coming to Epcot in the near future. Many of the ideas have come from visitor feedback, including plans for more shade areas!
