Best Beaches Near Disney World

It’s not a trip to Florida without a day spent at one of the stunning beaches. With the bright white soft sand and access to both the warm Atlantic and Gulf waters – not to mention miles upon miles of coastline – the Florida beaches are definitely worth a visit. Fortunately, there are plenty within easy reach of FantasyWorld, one of the leading Kissimmee Florida resorts, so start planning your own day at the beach.

When staying in Kissimmee, your best bet is to stick with the Atlantic coast beaches, as they’re closer than the Gulf coast beaches, saving you an hour or more of driving time. Your best bets are Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, and New Smyrna Beach.

Dayton Beach is certainly the most famous, and is roughly an hour’s drive away. You may want to avoid it during Spring Break, the Daytona 500, and Daytona Bike Week, as it gets crowded and a little more rowdy, but if you’re just looking to spend time at the beach itself, you’ll still enjoy it. Beyond the main Daytona Beach Shores, you’ll find smaller beach suburbs that are still part of the main beach, but are a little quieter than around the main city. There are also designated areas for surfing and safe swimming, and you’ll find a fun mix of beach attractions and arcades.

Another beach about an hour’s drive away is New Smyrna Beach, popular with locals and less inundated with heavy tourist traffic. Kayaking, fishing, and surfing are among the extra water activities to enjoy here, but you may want to pack your own picnic as the area isn’t as built-up as Daytona, though there are fast-food places nearby. The beach here is also a fun place to just play in the surf and build sandcastles, so you’re bound to have a fun, relaxing day out.

Cocoa Beach is also about an hour’s drive with State Road 528 taking you almost directly there. This beach is more popular for surfers or anyone interested in giving it a try, with surf schools available. Located along the Space Coast, this is a fun but laid-back beach experience. It’s not as built-up as Daytona is now, but still has plenty of shops and restaurants along the coast. You can pick up some take-out or pack your own picnic and enjoy it on the beach or head to Lori Wilson Park, a seaside park, which has free parking, restrooms, BBQ areas, and a playground for the kids, as well as direct beach access.

All are great beach options, just remember that parking or car access may be an issue at some of them, especially during the summer season. Pack your beach towels, some snacks, and plenty of sunscreen and enjoy a day at one of Florida’s stunning sandy white beaches. Plan to spend the day so the roughly hour drive makes it a great day-trip out from FantasyWorld, one of the best Kissimmee Florida resorts.
