What to See at the Epcot(R) International Flower and Garden Festival
The 23rd edition of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is bigger and better than ever. To celebrate all that spring and the Disney parks have to offer, the annual festival is going to be extended to 90 days this year, 15 more than the previous years. This gives visitors a better chance to experience the floral beauty and garden-fresh tastes of the festival, so book your Kissimmee villa now.
The Flower and Garden Festival will be held March 2-May 30, 2016, and along with annual favorites, there are new additions to the festival. Interactive play gardens, music concerts, Disney character topiaries, and outdoor kitchens are just some of the attractions that lure visitors in from around the world.
Disney character topiaries can be found throughout the festival and this year sees the addition of new characters. Daffy Duck’s nephews, Huey, Louie, and Dewey, are joining the festivities for the first time. In addition, The Ranger Mickey topiary garden in Future World is a great place to explore all the wonderful shapes and characters, while providing the perfect backdrop for family photos and selfies with Spaceship Earth in the background.
The Outdoor Kitchens is back for its fourth year as part of the festival, where guests can experience garden- and spring-inspired culinary creations. Don’t forget to get your Garden Passport stamped. In addition, there are 10 mini gardens to enjoy throughout the park, including an edible flower garden near the Morocco pavilion, which will showcase petals with flavor.
The Garden Rocks concert series returns, with pop music spanning four decades, ensuring lots of favorites for all ages. Kids can make their own music as part of the Fab Five Play Garden. This innovative new garden includes topiaries of Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto that feature musical instruments built into the outdoor climbing system.
Disney’s famous gardeners will be leading weekend gardening seminars, where you can learn a variety of tips and techniques and even purchase some signature festival merchandise. Other experts will be hosting complimentary seminars on a variety of gardening and outdoor living topics.
