Spend Fall in Kissimmee FL

Kissimmee gets overshadowed by its neighbor, Orlando, but along with a fun name (ask a local how to pronounce it), it’s full of entertaining things to do. It’s also a great home base if you are planning on visiting Orlando and some of the surrounding areas, as it’s a convenient location. Best of all, you can stay at FantasyWorld, one of the outstanding Kissimmee FL resorts where you can easily spend a day at the resort having fun, relaxing, playing games, enjoying the water park and so much more, even in the fall.

In fact, fall and winter are some of the best times to visit, as there are usually smaller crowds, outside of the weeks surrounding big holidays. Fall is also a great time to visit in terms of the weather, as it’s still warm enough to enjoy some water activities, but not so warm that you’re easily worn out and sweating all of the time. Fall in Kissimmee and Central Florida tends to be quite mild and is a nice change from other areas where it’s already getting cold. The pleasant temperatures let you get out and enjoy the scenery, including plenty of nature areas.

In fact, it’s a great time to visit Shingle Creek Regional Park. This park is focused around a small waterway and is named for the cypress trees that grow there, which were used to make wood shingles in the 1800s. Today, the park offers lovely views, along with a 32-mile trail that is great for hiking or biking. Take a picnic and enjoy a beautiful day amid a slice of Florida’s wonderful natural beauty.

Kids and adults alike with a fascination for aviation will want to visit the Kissimmee Air Museum. Not only will you see a stunning variety of American airplanes from throughout the years, you can even have a chance to fly a plane with the assistance of a pilot. There are also frequent air shows to enjoy.

Art lovers will want to stop at Osceola Arts, an arts and entertainment center in Kissimmee. As well as taking in fascinating works of art, there are often a variety of art events held throughout the year.

Of course, Florida is a favorite spot for golfers, thanks in part to the climate that lets them play practically year round. If you stay at FantasyWorld Resort, you’re just a short drive from Falcon’s Fire Golf Course. As well as an excellent 18-hole golf course, you’ll find a practice facility, a pro shop, and of course, that important 19th hole, in this case Falcon’s Nest Restaurant. If you are planning on playing, you may want to book your reservation in advance to be sure you get the time you want.

These are just a few of the places to visit in Kissimmee. There are also airboat tours, helicopter tours, plenty of fishing and kayak options, not to mention the various muscle, themed, and classic car shows on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Old Town. You’ll find plenty of other special events and ongoing attractions at Old Town, so don’t miss that, either.

There’s always something going in Kissimmee, year round, but fall is a particularly nice time as the weather becomes more comfortable and the crowds start to thin out a little. If you’re planning a visit to Central Florida, make sure to give Kissimmee a day or two to explore. It’s a charming city and ideally located. Plus, FantasyWorld is one of the fantastic Kissimmee FL resorts, which offers special package deals that include the theme parks, not to mention the vacation villas that offer you real comfort and convenience. Come stay at FantasyWorld and spend some time in Kissimmee. You’ll be happy you did!
