Orlando’s Best Adrenaline Rushes

Orlando is a great destination for those who love a good adrenaline rush. Even the resorts in Kissimmee FL, like FantasyWorld, have their own water parks and thrill options. Plus, there are all of the theme parks. For every It’s A Small World for those who prefer more tranquil rides, there’s a Space Mountain for those who love some excitement. Plus, lots of parks have a range of rides from the mild to the wild so that everyone can find something that suits their adrenaline-rush level.

Universal’s Islands of Adventure is a great all-rounder when it comes to the theme parks, though if you want to hit up The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and some other parks, you will need additional admission tickets. Still, there’s plenty at Islands of Adventure to get your heart racing and adrenaline coursing through you. You’ll be flung and dropped, and then soar, twist, and so much more on the array of roller coasters and other rides at this hugely popular park.

Among the various major theme parks, some of the top rated thrill rides are The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Pandora: The World of Avatar, Avatar Flight of Passage, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Mako.

For a theme park that mixes old school thrill rides with some Florida nature thrills, don’t miss Fun Spot America. This is ranked as a top-notch theme park, with Orlando’s only wooden roller coaster, suspended steel coaster, multi-level go-kart tracks, the world’s second tallest SkyCoaster at 250 ft, a 101-foot-high Ferris wheel, bumper cars, bumper boats, and Gator Spot, a 15,000 sq-ft oasis with more than 100 gators, exotic reptiles, and birds. These are just a few of the attractions available at Fun Spot America.

It’s not all roller coasters, though. There’s plenty of exciting things to do in Orlando. Max Flight Helicopters offers helicopter rides over the theme parks to give you a truly unique view of the size and spectacle of all of the various theme parks we all know so well.

If you have dreams of racing at Daytona, a fun and still thrilling alternative is Orlando Kart Center, an outdoor karting race track. Karts can go 45+ mph — the fastest in the area — across an excellent track. They even sometimes hold special races with prizes for winners.

For something a little unusual and special, check out the Orlando Star Flyer. Day or night, this swing ride slowly starts spinning and you find yourself swinging further and further out from the central pole, taking in great views of the city. As you get to the top, the speed increases, but not enough to be unpleasant for most people. For just $12, it’s a truly popular experience that comes highly rated and recommended.

Although it might be a bit chilly now, water sports enthusiasts and thrill seekers won’t want to miss the Orlando Watersports Complex. This unique watersports park is designed for wakeboarding, wakeskating, wakesurfing, kneeboarding and waterskiing, and offers lessons for various levels of experience, as well as plenty of other water adventures.

These are a handful of the thrill-ride options available in Orlando. If you stay at FantasyWorld, one of the great resorts in Kissimmee FL, you’ll also be close to some of the great airboat rides, like Spirit of the Swamp Airboat Rides, where both the ride itself, and some of the animals you see will ensure a thrilling experience. You’re sure to find the perfect thrill ride and adventure at any of the variety of locations throughout Central Florida, so get ready for a wild ride!
