Magical Dining in Orlando
For more than a decade, Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining ® serves up delicious delights at restaurants across the city. Serving a special pre-fixe menu, restaurants around the city offer guests mouth-watering dishes from a variety of cuisines. If you’re going to be staying at one of the Kissimmee resorts, such as Fantasy World, August 23 through September 30, make sure you make this event a part of your visit.
Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining ® features more than 120 Orlando restaurants offering three-course pre-fixe meals. There are 11 new restaurants added to the list this year to further expand your dining options. For $35 per person, you can try foods from around the world, as well as experience local favorites done to perfection. Plus, each year, one or more local charities receives $1 from each meal. With the number of people that take part in this dining experience, that soon adds up! The following are some of the newest additions to this dining event.
Fans of Spanish cuisine — and of Chef José Andrés — won’t want to miss the chance to dine at JALEO at Disney Springs. Their regular menu is outstanding and their special tapas menu for the dining event includes two different appetizers and two different entrees, sure to have your taste buds singing.
Downtown and in the areas nearby, there are places like Bites and Bubbles, which serves up a fantastic blend of classic American with a French twist. This restaurant in the Mills 50 district is showcasing a chilled seafood platter, tarte au poulet, beef Bourguignon, and lobster mac-n-cheese. In the Thornton Park neighborhood, Menagerie Eatery and Bar focuses on fresh, local ingredients, even for their excellent cocktail menu. Their special offerings are Salmon Jamming, Brick Chicken Thyme, and Bacon & Blue Cheese-Crusted Filet.
If you’re craving Italian, this year’s newest participants include Mia’s Italian Kitchen, Bella Tuscany Italian Restaurant, and Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant. Mia’s Kitchen on International Drive, serves up dishes such as Cozze di Birra (blue mussels, house Italian sausage and more, cooked in beer), as well as Rigatoni alla Calabrese, and Chicken Parmesan. Bella Tuscany is about 20 minutes north of Walt Disney World, and offers up a spectacular award-winning wine list of more than 700 vintages and classic dishes done to perfection, such as salmon, beef short ribs, and filet mignon. Enzo’s at Disney Springs has a speak-easy vibe (and cocktails to match) and traditional Roman dishes, including Branzino, a Mediterranean sea bass, Rigatoni Trapanesi, and Eggplant Enzo.
From The Back Room Steakhouse in Apopka, serving up Black Angus 10-Oz. New York strip steak, wild-caught Pacific Coho salmon, and herb-crusted prime pork chops, to The H Cuisine on Restaurant Row that is serving international dishes such as Lokum (tenderloin slices ages in butter for 25 days), grilled Scottish king salmon, and Josper vegetable stew with smoked yogurt, you’re sure to find something amazing.
If you’re going to be staying at one of the Kissimmee resorts like Fantasy World during Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining ®, check out the full list of participating restaurants and consider making a reservation if possible if there’s somewhere you really want to try.
