Festival of the Arts

It’s time for the annual Epcot Festival of the Arts, running January 13 to February 20, 2023. Full of art, animation, Broadway concerts, food, and much more, this is a wonderful event for all ages. If you’re planning a visit, be sure to book your FantasyWorld Resort vacation villa to have access to even more fun and entertainment.

The Festival of the Arts is included in the price of admission to Epcot, though the special food, merchandise, demonstrations, etc., do cost extra. Still, you’ll find plenty to do and enjoy at no extra cost. Make sure you download the My Disney Experience app and pick up a Festival Passport so you don’t miss out on anything that really grabs your interest.

The festival celebrates the creation of art and cuisine, so you’ll find a great mix of activities and tasty treats. There are also galleries and art for sale.

Among the popular activities are the hugely popular Paint-by-Number Mural, a daily activity for all guests to participate in, painting a few squares of a larger mural. It’s typically finished by around 5 pm, so head there early. Another chance to get involved is by becoming one with the art – or at least take an artful photo op in which you get to insert yourself into well-known artworks. This is an Instagram favorite!

As you explore the park, check out the chalk drawings of a variety of Disney characters found throughout Epcot. For kids who want to do their own chalk drawings, there are opportunities around the park for them, as well.

If your Disney illustration dreams are even bigger, you can always sign up for one of the limited Animation Academy classes, in which a Disney artist teaches you how to draw a Disney character.

As with all festivals, there’s the opportunity for a scavenger hunt. You do have to pay for it ($9.99+tax), but with the purchase of the map, you can take part in Figment’s Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt and collect a prize when you’ve completed the hunt.

Other entertainment includes Art Defying Gravity, an acrobatics show. Also, in honor of the 50th anniversary celebration, which is wrapping up, lights on Spaceship Earth will turn on as the sun sets and combine with some popular Figment songs. For more musical fun, there’s the daily “Disney on Broadway” concert series, which features live performances from stars of Disney on Broadway shows, including Robert Creighton (Frozen), Heidi Blickenstaff (Freaky Friday, The Little Mermaid), and Arielle Jacobs and Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), among others.

For art lovers and those who enjoy the creativity of Disney, the Epcot Festival of the Arts is a great experience. Plus, this is a great time of year to visit Central Florida, whether you’re visiting Epcot and other parks or also exploring more of the fun and adventures that can be found throughout the region. Whatever your plans, make your reservations at FantasyWorld Resort for a wonderful place to relax and have fun between all of your outings.
