After Hours Parties Returning to Disney World

Many Disney theme park visitors love the after-hours events, such as the ones for Halloween and Christmas. However, if you’re planning a visit early in 2023, you have more chances to enjoy the Disney after-hours parties. Disney World and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will both be hosting After Hours once again in 2023. The Disney’s Hollywood Studios After Hours begin on January 4, 2023, While Disney’s Magic Kingdom After Hours begin on January 9, 2023. We’ll focus on the Magic Kingdom, but many of the features are the same or similar. Both are meant to be a way to enjoy more of the magic of the last months of ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ honoring the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary.

Disney After Hours are separately ticketed events designed to give you a chance to enjoy Disney World theme parks in the evening after the crowds have gone for the day. The tickets are harder to come by than the usual holiday after-hours parties, but that means there are much shorter wait times for the various attractions. The After Hours events last for three additional hours after regular park hours, and include treats such as popcorn, ice cream, and select beverages.

Thanks to the limited number of tickets, the lucky guests will have shorter lines for more than 20 of the Magic Kingdom’s most popular rides, including Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, It’s a Small World, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Jungle Cruise, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, just to name a few. In addition to the shorter lines, you also actually get to enjoy the park for longer than the official three hours. While the actual After Hours party starts at 10 pm, ticket holders are allowed to enter the park without a regular day ticket at 7 pm. That gives you more time to enjoy all of the park, including evening spectaculars, such as Disney Enchantment.

Tickets are limited and may not be available the day of the event or possibly earlier, so if you’re planning a trip and haven’t set your dates, check the Disney website for the official dates, which are on select Mondays and Thursdays from January through March. Ticket prices vary slightly, between $135 and $159, depending on the date.

For those who want to skip the crowds, the potential heat, don’t need to see everything, and don’t mind staying up late, the After Hours are a great way to experience Disney World.
