Fun for Pets and People in Central Florida and Fantasy World

There are so many reasons that people visit Central Florida beyond the obvious theme parks. From the vast array of outdoor sports and attractions to the beaches, and of course visiting family members, there are plenty of occasions when you’re going to want to take the whole family, including your pets. Fortunately, Fantasy World is one of the pet friendly resorts in Kissimmee FL, letting the whole family enjoy a wonderful vacation.

You’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how many locations around Orlando are happy to have dogs visit, as long as they’re on a leash. From parks to shopping and dining, there’s a lot for even the four-legged family members to enjoy.

Right here in Kissimmee, there’s the The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek. Shingle Creek Regional Park is dog-friendly already, plus the paddling center lets you rent single kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. Trained staff is available if you want to take guided tours, such as the Two Hour Cypress Forest Guided Eco-Tour or a Manatee Encounter Tour at Blue Spring State Park. Medium-sized leashed dogs can ride along for no extra charge in a tandem kayak or canoe, and leashed dogs can come along in a one-person kayak or canoe. Staff will even let you pet try out the various options first to make sure they’ll be comfortable.

Wekiwa Springs State Park is an excellent spot to visit for the whole family. Take a picnic, rent a kayak, explore the walking trails, and soak in the natural spring waters that stay a constant 72 degrees year round. Best of all, your dog is allowed in too, as long as he or she is on a leash. Located a little more than 30 minutes from Fantasy World, this is a great spot to spend a whole day, enjoying the beautiful Florida nature and a fun, relaxing day with the family.

Downtown Orlando’s famous Lake Eola Park is a great spot to visit, not to mention being pretty Instagram friendly. With its beautiful fountain, great scenery, and a pleasant circular walk around the lake, there’s plenty to enjoy. Plus, there are a number of places to grab a bite to eat where Fifi or Fido is more than welcome.

It’s not just parks where your pets are welcome, though. There are plenty of shopping and dining areas where you can all enjoy an outing. For example, Park Avenue, a cosmopolitan shopping street in beautiful nearby Winter Park, is incredibly pet friendly. Aside from a variety of shops that allow pets inside, including Williams Sonoma, Restoration Hardware, and more, there are also places like Storehouse Furniture, which has a goodie bar inside with treats for humans and pets. You’ll find plenty of shopping, cultural spots, and great dining along Park Avenue, most of which is open to pets, and many restaurants include outdoor dining areas for people and pets, and some places even have pet-specific menus.

Another fun spot to visit is Celebration Town Center, which includes a number of pet-friendly restaurants, such as Celebration Town Tavern, as well as a pet bakery, not to mention lots of nearby walking trails.

If you’re looking for one of the pet friendly resorts in Kissimmee FL, look no further than Fantasy World. With designated pet-friendly villas, along with our own dog park, you can enjoy a wonderful family vacation with all members involved, even the four-legged ones!
